It’s important to have a go-to list of fall road trip essentials when packing for your much awaited autumn vacation. I definitely love summer and the heat, but fall brings such a special and magical energy.

It’s always a treat when I hit the road when the leaves start to turn colors and explore somewhere new or a destination I love visiting frequently.

Fall road trips are so much fun; getting the chance to drive and enjoy nature while you’re at it offers an unmatchable energy.

Road tripping in the fall is great but there are essential items you need to be safe on the road! While preparing for a trip, we tend to overlook what could happen such as a flat tire or not finding any good places to eat along the way.

So although the destination may be a gorgeous mountain or a pretty waterfall, its just as important to have a prepared car.

Let’s go and review the most important Fall Road Trip Essentials for a safe and successful fall road trip.

Car Necessities- Fall Road Trip Essentials

One of the most important parts of fall road tripping is to make sure your car is fully prepped for a safe journey on the road! Items such as jumper cables, spare tire, and emergency road assist number can make all the difference.

Of course, it’s important to have an epic trip itinerary full of hiking and exploring. But it’s also an absolute necessity to have a fully stocked car in case of emergencies while on the road.

It’s a great idea to bring a cooler packed with ice to keep dry sandwiches and drinks cool. However packing full on dinner may not be the best idea. Check out some great fall road trip essential snack items to pack:

Clothes

As the weather is starting to get cooler, you’ll need to bring a couple of layers. While fall is not as chilly as winter, its not warm as summer either.

It’s better to be safe rather than sorry and pack a couple of jackets than be freezing when you get to your luxurious cottage in the mountains. Here are some warm and cozy clothing items to packing as your fall road trip essentials.

Rain jacket

Leggings

Since we’re driving, there’s no need to worry about strict airline guidelines for liquids. It’s best to keep organised and keep all your toiletries tucked away and packed safely.

However, if there are items you may need during the drive, it’s best to keep those accessible to you in either the front of backseat.
