I’ve gathered the most gorgeous and accessible fall vacations from the east coast, west coast, and central USA destinations.

Whether you want to enjoy warm weather by the beach or embrace the changing weather in the mountains, here are the best fall weekend getaways in the USA!

Tybee Island, Georgia- Fall Weekend Getaways

If you’re located in the Southeast, more specifically Georgia, Tybee Island is the perfect beach fall weekend getaway.

There is plenty of fun things to do for adults and kids! You can head to the light house, chill by the beach, or enjoy some freshly caught sea food.

If you love kayaking and other beach activities, you are sure to have a fantastic time on Tybee Island.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

This has to be one of my favorite places in the southeast, if not the entire United States! The scenery is gorgeous with mountains on every side.

The culture is rich with Native American roots, and there is so much to learn from the tribes that call this area home.

You can go zip lining, try Native Fry Bread, or go hiking. If you’re a natural person, definitely don’t miss out on a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee.

New Orleans, Louisiana- Fall Weekend Getaways

There are a lot more unique things to do in New Orleans than you think! A city filled with history and French influence, New Orleans is a wonderful fall weekend getaway. My time in New Orleans was spent learning about their colonial history and eating amazing food.

Head to French Quarter to catch an interesting History lesson, roam the street and admire all the colorful buildings, and eat some darn delicious beignets.

My family and I did a dinner cruise where we sailed down the Mississippi River and ate cultural foods like gumbo, jambalaya, and rice and beans.

Don’t forget to check out City Park and take in the beautiful oak trees that make the park look like an enchanted forest.

Chattanooga, Tennessee

This has to be one of my favorite fall weekend getaway spots! It’s a cute little southern city with the perfect combination of modern and lush nature. Chattanooga is full of hikes, parks, and aquarium, and some pretty tasty food.

Nooga has the perfect southern charm. The people are so nice, the city is well structured, and it gives adorable boutique vibes.

Check out Rock City Gardens and and Ruby Falls for scenic views and taking in all the beauty Chattanooga has to offer.

Boston, Massachusetts- Fall Weekend Getaways

Boston is a city that has a certain charm to it. It’s more easily accessible to those in the DMV or Northern areas.

There is a lot to learn about American history if you’re into historical vacations. There’s plenty of museums to visit in Boston and a ginormous (and dope) public library.

Helen, Georgia

There is an endless abundance of fun things to do in Helen Georgia! It’s a great fall weekend getaway close to Atlanta Georgia.

I went with my mom and we went river tubing, walked through the town, ate great food, and learned from the museums.

It’s a little over an hour drive from ATL making it an easy access destination for those in the Southeast.

Blue Ridge, North Carolina- Fall Weekend Getaways

If you’re driving and want to explore more of the southeast, head on down to Blue Ridge North Carolina. The drive through the mountains alone should be enough to send you into an instant state of relaxation.

There are plenty of caverns to discover like Luray or Linville and national parks. There is access to the famous Great Smoky Mountains from North Carolina as well.

If you’re looking for a mountain, hiking, nature submerged fall weekend getaway you’ve got to visit the Blue Ridge!

Poconos, Pennsylvania- Fall Weekend Getaways

The Poconos are truly a magical place! My first experience here was in my elementary school days but it was filled with great memories and appreciating nature.

The mountains/trees are very pretty and Bushkill falls makes for a fulfilling hike for those that love the outdoor.

Sedona, Arizona

The Grand Canyon has to be one of the prettiest national parks in the USA. I mean, just LOOK at it! Regardless of where you’re located in the states, Arizona is quite easy to get to and not as expensive as California.

Visit Cantaloupe Canyon for majestic looking rock formations and capture the BEST pictures for instagram while you’re at it.

Arizona tends to still be quite hot during fall so this is the best destination for a warm weather fall weekend getaway.

Salt Lake City, Utah- Fall Weekend Getaways

Everyone knows about Arizona but I seriously think Utah is super underrated! There are plenty of canyons, national parks, and hikes to showcase he beauty of the west.

Arches National Park, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Monument Valley are all places to go and have your mind blown at this gorgeous state.

Portland, Oregon– Fall Weekend Getaways

Portland is gorgeous all times of the year, but especially during fall. This city is located on the USA’s western coast and has no short of waterfalls, beaches, and parks to visit.

Visit the Columbia river for stunning views of the west’s natural beauty. Check out the Japanese Garden, Forest park, or Washington park for a chill walk or picnic.

New York City

I’m sure we’re all familiar with the concrete jungle where dreams are made of. As a person born in New York, I know the city is pretty fast paced, but it’s one of the most diverse cities in the entire states.

NYC offers the best food from any culture you can think of: Ethiopian, Jamaican, Peruvian, Brazilian, or Kenyan. You name it!

Apart from delicious culturally diverse food, you can take time to walk around the city and see how locals live. Try your hand in taking the Metro train or visit the classic Statue of Liberty.

Venice, California- Fall Weekend Getaways

Cali has to be one of my favorite states ever. But Venice holds a special place in my heart. The overall vibes of Southern California are super warming. Especially when the leaves are turning colors and the weather is cooling down in other parts of the country.

One of my favorite parts about Venice is of course Venice Beach and Santa Monica. There were so many cool people having a great time soaking in the rays. I visited here as a solo female traveler and it was a lovely experience.
